Can an air fryer be too big

Air fryers can never be too big which is why they handle similar to small size models, with no give or take and only the bonus large capacity to take advantage of.

Air fryer capacity is the biggest downside to most air fryers available today, as the otherwise small capacity will really restrict what you can and cannot air fry. Average air fryer capacity will allow you to feed one person at a time, whereas the largest 8 quart air fryers will allow you to feed a family of 3-4, within reason.

One thing I can guarantee when it comes to any type of air fryer, is that the bigger it is, the better it will be for the whole family.

In fact, its not just the family that will benefit with a bigger capacity air fryer, I will say the largest air fryer you can buy will benefit you alone - where with air fryers you must always think about selecting the biggest available.

Air fryer baskets are what can be too small, and they can be incredibly small.

It is not possible to buy a too big air fryer which I believe at the time of writing, is restricted to a 8 quart capacity (which is 7.6 litres in layman's terms).

Capacity such as this is enough to cook more than one food item at a time without compromising on space and capability. Normally a larger size air fryer will give you the width and depth needed to effectively cook a proper meal.

Air fryers these days are too small in capacity which is the biggest disadvantage of an air fryer, and certainly a reason why not to buy an air fryer when you need to cook for several people at a time - as most common air fryers don't have the capacity.

What is better than a single basket air fryer is actually a dual air fryer with a combined capacity of 8 quarts (7.6 litres) in total; and with two drawers containing independent baskets - you'll be sure to cook multiple food items at a time. Biggest dual air fryer would use one large basket of 8 quarts, along with the second basket of 3 quarts.

Concerning counter space, I don't believe the largest air fryer will exceed anywhere near a microwave for example, and thus shouldn't look too intrusive in your kitchen.

Bigger the better

I can't emphasis enough the need to only buy the largest capacity air fryer you can possibly find and afford.

You'd be better for it going forward because not only can you cook more items at any one time - along with plenty of space to spare in the basket - you can add more food which will go towards feeding a family of 3-4 in one sitting.

Air fryers are let down with capacity and its the only feature you must look for in an air fryer, with a 5-8 quart capacity air fryer only.

Bigger the better is the name of the game when purchasing an air fryer, where I see little downsides to a larger model.

Manufacturer's will ensure you can handle a single large 8 quart basket with one hand providing you don't over fill it; as you'd need to open the basket as often as you can to naturally flip food over like meats and vegetables - while shaking fries every minute or so.

Downside to air fryers

Biggest downside to an air fryer is how small they come in, which normally makes air fryers with a 2-3 quart capacity mostly available for sale in supermarkets or department stores, thus its natural to think this is the only size they come in.

You do have to look a bit further for a larger capacity air fryer and I do only recommend around the 8 quart size.

My current Cosori air fryer is a 5.5 litre air fryer (which is 5.8 quarts) and while it does provide plenty of space for food items cooked alone; cooking more than two food items can be a little restricting.

On that basis alone I recommend you only think about utilizing the largest air fryer on the market, which probably isn't for sale at your local store.

Of course, you can also think about buying a dual air fryer which will be totally worth your money; not only can two food items be cooked at the same time - you will get that 8 quart capacity you really do need.

Go for maximum 8 qt / 7.6 ltr. air fryer

How big should an air fryer be in my opinion is the largest capacity on the market today, which I believe stands at 8 quarts, which translates to approximately 7.6 litres.

Do buy the biggest air fryer you can find under this number but always consider above 6-7 quarts.

Where you'll be let down with a capacity under 6 quarts - which my Cosori air fryer currently stands at - is that you'll be restricted to what you can cook. And while you can cook fries for example, cooking them along side breaded chicken would be hard to do.

I recommend the largest capacity available at 8 quarts because not only can you cook fries and chicken together, there's an opportunity to cook a third food item.

Along with that, it would be possible to cook for up to 3-4 people without compromise, thus the large capacity air fryer basket will provide enough width and length needed to add all the food items needed to be cooked together.

Combined dual 8 qt. capacity

While I've spoken of an single air fryer basket only thus far, you could stand to benefit from a very useful dual air fryer that will provide you the 8 quart capacity; only it will be split into dual air fryer baskets which will come in very useful.

Allow me to explain a little better where and when a dual air fryer becomes a better choice.

With a combined 8 quart dual air fryer containing two baskets, normally these will be split 50/50 in size which means you'll end up with two baskets of 4 quarts each - and I promise you that is the opposite of what a dual air fryer should offer.

Instead you must only buy a dual air fryer - preferably in 8 quarts - with one larger basket of 5 plus quarts - along with the smaller basket of approximately 3 quarts.

What this would allow you to do is cook a small whole chicken in the largest basket, while cooking up vegetables and other food items in the smallest.

Everyone is sure to benefit from a dual air fryer, whether you're a family of four, a couple, or a person living alone. Dual air fryers will make it easy on you to cook one or several meals in one go - whereas a single basket air fryer wouldn't allow such capacity.

Conclusion

No question about it, whether you live alone or have a partner, plus one or two kids, the largest capacity air fryer you can find must be strongly considered.

With little downsides to a large capacity of 8 quarts, the extra size it provides is essential for cooking for just one or two people - let alone a whole family who must be fed at the same time.

Bigger the better it is with air fryers thus I recommend you buy the biggest model you can find, if you can afford it as it will naturally cost a little more.

Downside to air fryers is currently their capacity and believe me there is few food items you can cook in an air fryer which come in under 5 quarts.

So you can cook fries, onion rings and chicken nuggets, but really how much of that can you eat before air frying gets tiring with total lack of meal ideas.

Air fryers can do so much more than cook fries where you'll only understand that with a large capacity air fryer. Of which, they can cook a small to medium size chicken - plus roast beef, pork or lamb - with additional vegetables cooked along side it. Although a dual air fryer would be better for that purpose.

And that is why dual air fryers exist, to provide just you or your family a way to cook more than one item at a time, all at the same time.
