Can you use air fryer after washing

None of us want soap in our air fried food of which it can happen if all the air fryer components aren't cleaned and rinse properly.

Feel confident enough to use your air fryer soon after washing all of its components - like the basket, crisper tray and outer container -  by rinsing thoroughly under a running cold tap until every spot of visible soap residue has been rinsed away. Left behind soap residue could damage your basket.

When you've washed your air fryer and plan to use it to cook soon after washing, it can be a little intimidating to cook food soon after soaking in dish soap.

Well, don't be afraid, if you thoroughly rinse your air fryer components really well - being sure to remove every patch of bubbles - you can begin to air fry you food ASAP.

Place food directly into the air fryer basket or crisper plate, with an option to line the basket which will benefit you by adding food to foil or parchment paper to keep clean.

Of course you can avoid dirtying your air fryer basket to begin with, by using what can be a silicone basket to keep the air fryer clean while cooking - which will avoid cleaning the air fryer on a regular basis.

Washing an air fryer and its additional components in a regular washing up liquid isn't expected to cause any kind of damage to your air fryer appliance. Non-abrasive cloths or sponges will, but not so with dish-safe washing liquid.

When you're done cleaning your air fryer be sure to rinse the basket, crisper plate and outer container - plus any unmentioned parts - under a running tap for as long as it takes to remove all signs of soap.

Air fry anytime after cleaning

Often I have to soak the air fryer basket for 10-20 minutes before using minutes later, but not before I've thoroughly rinsed off the soap.

If you are sure all soap residue has been removed from the air fryer basket and similar components, like the crisper tray for example; go ahead and use the air fryer after washing with no fear of leftover soap.

Worst thing that can happen is soap residue will heat up if in the air fryer and potentially permanently stain the area it has been left on.

With that, of course soap residue will fly about inside the air fryer which can lead to soap baking onto your food, along with soap eventually resting inside the air fryer, which could leave a mark that can be difficult to remove later.

Air fry as soon as you're done washing your air fryer but be mindful of soap being left behind if you don't rinse the residue well enough after scrubbing.

To be on the safe side, it wouldn't hurt to rinse the recently washed air fryer twice to be sure every spec of soap has been rinsed away.

Heat for 2 minutes to thoroughly dry

Whilst easy to spot bubbles on this occasion, its vitally important to rinse off every crevice of your air fryer basket, in an effort to wash away unseen soap residue.

You can be assured when it comes time to use your air fryer soon after washing it, you can also make sure its thoroughly dry.

To do that you can do what I do every time I clean the air fryer basket, which is to air fry the internal air fryer basket and container for a maximum of 2 minutes. To do that, slide your assembled air fryer components into the air fryer appliance - and manually dial in a temperature of 400°F/205°C - and allow to heat for 2 minutes.

In reality, aged and unkempt air fryers don't clean up properly at all and can leave baked on grease and fat, which will come off onto a clean tea towel you use to dry the air fryer - which will leave stains on your towel.

Air fry your air fryer basket by setting the temp high with the time set to just 2 minutes, to dry it hands-free, whilst saving on extra laundry.

Don't be afraid to air fry soon after

It is normal to feel unsure about adding food items directly to an air fryer basket which was just soaked in soapy water.

But don't be, if you can be sure the basket has been fully rinsed off of soap residue, you can use the air fryer right away.

Anxiety of soap residue remaining on any part of the basket is a real concern, but one that isn't an issue if you do well at rinsing the basket. Continue to rinse soap off both basket and outer container as long as it takes to rinse off visible soapy patches.

Soap can spoil your air fried food if it does come into contact, whilst also potentially damaging an internal component if soap is allowed to heat up inside the air fryer.

Conclude

Feel confident knowing you've removed every bit of soap residue after you've washed it, by thoroughly rinsing the basket, crisper tray and outer container for as long as it takes to remove what is usually leftover bubbles.

Don't hand dry the air fryer basket and additional components either when all can be put back in the air fryer, to dry hands-free for a maximum of 2 minutes.

You will have to allow access water to drain out of every crevice first, because you don't want water to fly about inside your air fryer has it dries within the 2 minutes. Do well to drain as much water as you can before setting the time and temp to dry.

Air fryers don't wash well in due course due to the appliance deteriorating, of which the tea towel used to dry any component will leave stains on the towel.

Don't be afraid to air fry soon after you've washed your air fryer if you can guarantee you have rinsed every spot of soap residue.

If you don't feel confident enough to use your air fryer soon after its been cleaned, then there's certainly no harm in waiting several minutes or an hour until you feel assured.

Understand though, the waiting game is just out of fear and serves no purpose at all.
